The village had a very busy history all along the old times, often invaded, often rebuilt.
What remain are the medieval remparts, the last castle door, a wash house, some half-timbered houses, the corn market and of course the Saint-Vincent collegiale church which houses the famous Rembrandt painting The Christ on the cross.
The exceptional dominant location of Le mas d'Agenais, either along the Canal or the Garonne Valley makes it a lively village with
Le Bateau-Lavoir, a café
a bar selling tobacco
Le Grenier, an antiques and a local artists ceramics seller
2 bakers
a drugstore
a bank with a cash dispenser
2 minimarkets
3 heardressers and a beauty shop
a little market every thursday
...
an augustr swimming-pool, a tennis court, a canoe club, a game of bowls field
and a port on the canal with a boat rental..
A forest, wonderful for picnic or nice walks, is lining Le Mas.
